Is Kappa Delta Pi prestigious? ›

Kappa Delta Pi is one of the largest and most prestigious educational honor societies, with more than 40,000 members and 600 chapters around the world. To date, more than 1,200,000 educators worldwide have been inducted.

Degree-seeking students shall be enrolled in 6 hours of education courses; have a minimum collegiate GPA of 3.0 (or the equivalent of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale if a different system is used by the institution); and support KDP's mission, vision, and values.

Recognizing that they continue to benefit from their membership and want to see Alpha Delta Pi thrive on our campuses and in our communities, many alumnae commit to paying their voluntary annual ReMember dues. Our Standing Rules suggest a $30 annual dues amount, though many sisters give more as they are able.

Today two-thirds of the female groups in the National Panhellenic Conference are still incorporated as fraternities. There are nine, including Kappa Delta, who identify themselves as sororities. Most of the organizations founded before 1882 did not change their designation, Alpha Delta Pi being one exception.

Unlike some other top-tier sororities, Kappa Delta members do not have a reputation for being all clones or princesses, but they tend to be popular and social.

Associate members and brothers are eligible for recognition in the Order of the Lamp during each semester they achieve a semester G.P.A. of at least a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale. Seniors who achieve a cumulative G.P.A. of at least a 3.25 are recognized with an Order of the Lamp certificate.
