Glada Pearl Pearce, 86, of Harrisonburg, died Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Pearce was born Feb. 15, 1921, in Lincoln County, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Oliver and Lottie Griffith Dunlap.
She moved to Harrisonburg from Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1985, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg, the church choir and Bible study and Church Circle. She was a member of the Spotswood Country Club. She was a receptionist for West Virginia Congressman John M. Slack for a number of years before retiring.
Her first husband, Paul R. Green, preceded her in death Jan. 2, 1963. Her second husband, Clement C. Pearce Jr., preceded her in death Aug. 11, 1997.
Surviving are four sons, Gary D. Green of Harrisonburg, David Green of Gosport, Ind., Victor Green of Hurricane, W.Va., and Clement C. Pearce III of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Deborah Morrison of Coral Gables, Fla.; a sister, Juanita Pendleton of Richmond, six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Dr. John Sloop will conduct a memorial service at noon Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg. Burial will be private in East Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Harrisonburg, or the Harrisonburg Rescue Squad, or the Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements are by the Kyger Funeral Home and Crematory in Harrisonburg.
